Albuquerque NM, USA

So, I was thinking how little a US dollar would buy you these days. I mean, it used to be that a kid with a dollar was King among his peers. You could get like 20 candy bars for that! Not to mention a couple gallons of gas. Of course, I don't want to know what a kid is going to do with 2 gallons of gas but I digress...

Now I'm curious just what a dollar will buy these days in places around the world. What will a dollar buy you where you live? How about $5? $10? If you need a curency calculator, there is a link to one on the right. Let me know how much or how little you can get!

Here in Albuquerque, NM, for one dollar, I could buy a single bagel (89¢) or one candy bar (also 89¢) and that's about all she wrote. For a whopping $5, I could get 1.75 gallons of gas or a latte. Pretty fricken sad if you ask me.
